Spectacular Paintings with Dual Personalilites

Randy Noborikawa’s paintings will surely make you do a double take. If you view them from the center, you will see the overlap of two images, but from one side or the other, they appear to be separate images.

His image choices specifically work together to portray a message through their relationship. Noborikawa says that the lenticular paintings “create a wonderful abstraction that could never be planned, when viewed from straight on.”

It’s interesting how this style of artwork takes the idea of “looking at both sides” literally and leaves it to the viewer to decide the connection between the two. The use of bright colors in many of his works makes them stand out even more. The multidimensional nature of the pieces also contribute to the wonderful array of different perspectives and depth they portray.

Some of his works are also on the streets as public works, but do not necessarily call for attention. Noborikawa elaborates, “I just thought it would be interesting to deposit these little guys like hidden diamonds. They don’t really scream out, they just patiently hide their little secret duality.”
