I’m a big fan of glass art, so when I first laid eyes on Dale Chihuly’s work, I was immediately captivated. It was like nothing I’d ever seen. A pioneer of the studio glass movement, Chihuly is credited with transforming the methods of creating glass art, and leading the development of complex, multi-part glass sculptures and environmental art. His contributions extend well beyond the boundaries of the studio glass movement and even the field of glass, and his achievements have influenced contemporary art in general. If you’ve ever been to the Bellagio in Las Vegas, you’ve probably seen his work before. Chihuly created the spectacular floral garden on the ceiling of the lobby. Collected here are a handful of my favorite pieces from his wide range of works. They include installations like pools, aquariums, spears, and floral walls. I’ve also added a couple photos of my girlfriend Annie and I in front of a couple Chihuly pieces at the “The Gallery,” located at the new CityCenter in Las Vegas.
