Just as the day was breaking on a quiet morning in January, a pilot saw an opportunity. He was flying a plane onto runway 08L at Munich Airport when he realized he should film the descent.
Months later, the pilot, who goes by Air Principito on Instagram, shared the final footage on social media. The result is a snapshot of a stunning, almost heavenly landscape, shrouded in a delicate mist. Evening clouds are steadily fading into a peachy tone, while the horizon is painted in orange and yellow. Beneath the plane, the runway lights emit a soft glow, shining through the fog and peppering the scene with an effervescent quality.
“Magical approach on an early January morning,” the pilot wrote in his Instagram caption. “Fog, runway lights, and the colors of dawn combine into a timeless moment.”
People seem to agree with the sentiment, reiterating just how breathtaking the scene is. “I can just feel how crisp and calm the winds are,” one user wrote. “Super stable approach. Nailed it!”
