Illustrator Hannah Kienzle uses her artistic skills as a way to express the beauty of the world around her. Inspired by nature and her travels abroad, the Florida-based creative fashions enamel pins featuring ethereal art. Her most notable pieces revolve around Moth Pixies—figures that are part human and part winged creature. They have the body of a slender woman whose head is affixed with antennas and can fly thanks to an elegant pair of wings.
Kienzle took her first steps towards creating an enamel pin in 2016. At that time, she launched a Kickstarter for her pin design, Daphne the Moth Pixie. “I have always had a passion for pins,” she wrote, “[and have] been collecting Disney pins with my mother since 2003.” Since then, she has continued to refine her designs by offering glittery wings and detailed head portraits of her characters. By wearing them on your clothes, these fantastical characters are “flying” alongside you!
Kienzle sells the Moth Pixies and other enamel pins in her Etsy shop.
