Art is more than a profession; it is a way of life. Photorealistic painter, photographer and printmaker Chuck Close has been impressing art enthusiasts for well over 30 years. With his impeccable skill, it’s no wonder that he stands out as one of the most celebrated American artists working today. Lucky for us, Close unveiled an exhibition at Blum and Poe in Culver City, California, which features his latest work. The gallery is more than pleased to have him saying that this exhibition “represents the most significant body of work assembled in Los Angeles in sixteen years.”

Featured in this show are new large-scale oil paintings of artists Kara Walker, Laurie Anderson, and Zhang Huan, as well as works from Close’s ongoing self-portrait series. In typical Chuck Close style, the paintings look like a wash of colors up close, but from far away, resemble discernible faces.

This is one show you don’t want to miss! The exhibition will end December 22, so be sure to stop by if you’re in the area.
