Let’s Grab a Ticket to the White House Easter Egg Roll!

Here’s an event I’d love to go…if I had a kid! (Sis, can I borrow yours?) The White House just recently announced that it will distribute tickets for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll online for the first time, doing away with the decades-old tradition of Washington families who line up for hours on the Ellipse the weekend before the event to receive their tickets. A press release from the White House cited a desire for “more children and families from across the United States (to) have the opportunity to experience this event” as a reason for the ticketing change. Tickets will be available through www.whitehouse.gov/eastereggroll starting today, Thursday, March 26. When I last checked, I got this response: “Tickets for the 2009 White House Egg Roll are no longer available at this time. Tickets will be available at various times throughout the day. If you are unable to order tickets at this time, please check back later.” Only persistent clickers will win! The theme of the 131st event is “Let’s go play,” encouraging America’s youth to lead healthy and active lives. There must be at least one child ten years old or under and no more than two adults per group. The Egg Roll has been set for Monday, April 13, 2009, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the South Lawn of the White House. First photo by Archie Cubarrubia More info
