A dynamic image of a diver swimming toward a large school of fish has won the 5th annual ColorPro Awards. Themed around “momentum,” the contest was organized by ViewSonic, a global leader in visual solutions. Benjamin Yavar’s winning photo, Wormhole, won the photography category for the way it powerfully captures the scene’s movement and energy.
Designed to celebrate creative excellence and storytelling in multiple fields, the ColorPro Awards doesn’t just honor photography. Videography, digital art, and generative art were also awarded in the contest, proving that all types of visuals—even if they’re created with AI—can have the power to move us.
The short film Essence of Colorwon the videography category. Using dynamic visuals and evolving compositions, it’s an artistic journey of self-discovery. In the digital art field, António Montanha from Portugal won for his stunning piece showing a vibrant yellow dragonfly perched on a pink hibiscus.
For generated art, Gilang Ramadhan won the People’s Choice vote for a shockingly realistic image of a surfer sitting calmly while a wave curls around him. The contest heralded the work for its ability to “symbolize resilience in the face of nature’s power.”
