Florist Quietly Adorns Weathered Public Statues with Elaborate Flower Bouquets

When it comes to style, flowers are a favorite accessory of 2016. From elaborate floral crowns to men who stick petals in their beards, anyone can try this natural trend. Florist Geoffroy Mottart takes this same idea and applies it to men and women who could definitely use some help in this department—namely, the public statues around Brussels.

The flair that Mottart adds to these busts and carved sculptures is beyond elaborate. He cloaks them in dense, unconventional bouquets that showcase his expert arrangement skills. Suddenly, the stone figures—some weathered with age—are given a new life. They’re now adorned with bright pops of color and floral hairdos of roses, daffodils, moss, and much more. It’s an unexpected yet charming way to combine man and nature.

Mottart calls his fanciful additions Fleurissements. Although they only last for a day or so before being removed, he snaps photographic evidence and puts it on Instagram. That way, people around the world can continually marvel at his intricate construction and the beauty of this ongoing project.

Geoffroy Mottart breathes new life into weathered public sculptures with flowers.
