Staten Island’s world-renowned PS22 Chorus knew that they had to do something special when teacher Adriana Lopez was diagnosed with breast cancer. To honor their beloved educator during this difficult time, the young singers decided to serenade her with Martina McBride’s cancer survivor anthem “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.” To end their beautiful tribute, the 5th-grade students waved pink flowers in the air to show their never-ending support for their dedicated teacher. “I want to thank you for this special moment,” said Lopez. “It’s not easy, but I will get through it because I have wonderful friends at this school.”
