I can’t think of any other more beautiful artistic tribute to a television show than this one. Beautiful Death, by studio agency 360i and artist Robert M. Ball, is an illustrated series that shows us the death or deaths that occurred in each episode of the HBO hit show Game of Thrones. So far, each episode in all three seasons have been illustrated as well as the first episode in Season 4 (which just premiered on April 6).
Today, we’ve put together our favorites. These are the illustrations that are fantastically creative in that they may take you a few seconds to completely see the hidden figure inside of it or understand the cleverness behind it. (Good thing we have the captions.) Fans are encouraged to create and submit their own artwork on the Beautiful Death website.
For the illustration above, the caption reads, “A death that made us despise a certain ‘royal bastard’ in Season 1 x Episode 9. We honor Ned Stark.” These are fantastic!
