Sneak Peek: Amy Sol’s Magical New Paintings

We’re proud to present the sneak peek of artist Amy Sol’s fantastic new show titled Incantation. Starting on September 14, visit the Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City to see all new works from the Korea-born artist whose style is influenced by everything from folk-art to manga and modern design. The self-taught artist has spent many years of her life mixing pigments and mediums to achieve a unique color palette of subtly muted tones.

This new collection explores the supernatural, esoteric qualities of femininity and nature. Her signature muted color palette is a bit richer here as her pieces each give off an illuminated quality that suggests the theme of magic. As the gallery states, “Each painting is intended to capture a moment of evocation, where the mystery of a wish and a hidden hope can remain preserved.”

Sol’s new show will be debuting on the same night as Nataly “Kukula” Abramovitch opens “The Adventures of Raspberry Finn”. As Corey Helford states, “These exhibitions represent all-new works by these two distinct, gentle and yet radically different artists and I guarantee there will be no better art experience on that Saturday night anywhere in Los Angeles. The detail, whimsy and sensually evocative style of Kukula and the haunting, pale, almost translucent style of Amy Sol complement each other for a combination of exhibitions that bring the best of the New Contemporary scene to the two galleries, which are only three doors apart for your evening’s art pleasure.”

Sounds like two shows you won’t want to miss!
