Italian artist Alessandro Diddi is not only a skilled illustrator, but he’s also a brilliant creative mind that makes it easy for viewers to believe that his drawings are popping out of the page into the third dimension. His incredible anamorphic illustrations play with light, shading, and perspective to trick the human eye into believing that inanimate sketches have come to life.
Diddi says, “I want my drawings to put across the message that the eye can trick the mind and make you believe that there are dimensions that are not really there.” He even playfully interacts with his drawings, which further heightens the illusion of their three dimensionality.
Despite working out the precise anamorphic design behind each image, the 42-year-old artist suggests that it is not a difficult task for people to accomplish and adds, “[I]t is not necessary to consume a large amount of resources to achieve something interesting. All you need is a pencil and something to draw on, and you can create something really magical.”
