Unique Fashion Shoot Taken on a Scanner Bed

Pressing your face against the surface of the copy machine to get a funny black and white self-portrait, though probably frowned upon, is sometimes a tempting activity when working in a corporate office. Recently, Brooklyn-based photographer Henry Hargreaves decided to take that idea into the world of fashion and captured a series of images using just the bed of a scanner. The jewelry-focused photo shoot required model Talita of RED to lay still on the surface of the glass for 20-30 seconds at a time. The combination of scanning up to 150 variations, using a variety of experimentations, and carefully posing the model and the products resulted in these unique displays of jewelry design.

According to his website, Hargreaves says the things that unite his work best are “his restless and curious mind, a fascination with the unusual or quirky and a desire to see how photography can illuminate the world and spark conversation.” The simple and metallic palettes of color in this fashion series lead viewers to focus attention on the fantastic, modern jewelry designs. The collection features jewelry by Pamela Love, Lizzie Fortunato, We Are Here, Asos, Dannijo, Stella McCartney, and Me&Ro.
