Most millennials will tell you that the 1990s were arguably the best decade to grow up in. ‘90s kids had MTV, iconic pop music, classic teen dramas, heartthrob crushes, and a standout (denim-dominated) sense of style, creating memories that many still treasure today. To celebrate ‘90s nostalgia, a digital artist known as Future Punk has Photoshopped modern-day celebrities to look as though they’re 1990s superstars.
Nicki Minaj looks like a cast member of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Lil Wayne rocks a classic hi-top fade haircut, Donald Glover looks right at home posing as a rapper from the golden era of hip hop, and ‘90s Justin Bieber looks like he’s straight out of NSYNC. Each image has a grainy quality, giving them that VHS video tape aesthetic that makes the artists’ ‘90s makeovers all the more believable.
