Also this is so interesting to me – which way do you draw an X? Colored line being the first stroke pic.twitter.com/a0WTl8WT7P

How do you draw the letter X? It’s a simple question, but it’s one that has recently ignited a rousing debate on Twitter. On January 19, @SMASEY shared an image that demonstrated eight different ways to draw an X. If you’re like many folks, you probably didn’t give this a lot of thought prior to seeing the tweet. Once you figure it out, though, you’re bound to have a strong opinion on the “right” way to scribble one on paper.
The viral post, which now has over 19,000 retweets, is filled with comments by people both sharing their number and being incredulous to those who could make their X drawing any other way. Regardless of where you fall into this category, it’s fascinating to compare the responses. “General consensus is that Americans do 7 and 8 while [the] UK does 5 and 6,” @SMASEY wrote in a follow-up tweet. “Probably how we were taught. Not sure about other countries.”
So, what kind of X do you draw? Do you agree with the consensus?
After Twitter user @SMASEY shared the eight different ways to draw X, people had opinions.
8.
People who draw bottom to top are also the ones that put their toilet paper on the holder the wrong way.

8. Obviously. The rest of you are all deviant freaks.

WTF? Who doesn’t do 7?!

I’m a 2 should I got to the hospital

I was wondering if there would be a consistent difference for lefties. Hard for me to judge, since I am in all ways “normal” – RH, American, not a monster. I do 8. Naturally. 😂

Some were shaken by the revelation that an X could be drawn other ways.
me realising there are other ways to draw an ‘x’ 🤯

Saw this. Immediately forgot how I have been drawing x’s my entire lift. Had to write each one down. None felt right. Taking all words with x’s out of my vocabulary until further notice.

Definitely air-writing x’s over and over here…
