Discarded Scraps Transformed into Functional Wood and Resin Stools

South Korean design studio Hattern has come up with a clever upcycled furniture idea that ensures no waste is left behind. Zero Per Stool is a gorgeous piece of resin and wood furniture that answers the question of how furniture can be fabricated without waste.

The stool consists of white oak legs and a seat fabricated with the offcuts of the legs set in resin. By setting the wooden offcuts in the resin until it cures, a unique piece of upcycled furniture is created each time.

Hattern is a studio that specializes in upcycled design and has mastered the art of creative pattern making. Here, from an aesthetic standpoint, the resin serves to highlight the negative space, emphasizing each stool as a work of art.

Smaller pieces can also be incorporated into upcycled coasters.
