With the Lunar eclipse occurring tonight, what a great time to look at the stars through these long exposure shots by photographer Ben Canales. Growing up between three major cities, it wasn’t often that Canales had the opportunity to see many stars. A few years ago, he moved to the West Coast, where the skies are much less light polluted. “It’s been a thrill and a treasured experience to look up and see a literal field of diamonds in the stars above,” he says. Canales wants us to remember the amazement and excitement we felt when we first looked up into the sky as kids. “As adults we’ve lost the child-like wonder our world was beaming with when we were younger. I believe it is still there to be seen, one just needs to work a bit harder to find it. My images are purposed to show the wonder of the sky as if you were standing under it yourself, looking up.”
