In an effort to bring awareness of the devastating effects of global warming, Young Stellar Project created a set of hand soaps to remind us of our environmental impact. Designer William Lee was inspired by the masses of melting glaciers and icebergs in the Arctic and crafted the product in their likeness. Called A Glacier Adrift, they are made from all-natural glycerin soap and come in small, medium, and large sizes.
The faceted objects have a beautiful and subtle sea-green color at their base that fades up to a pointed top. As you use them, they will slowly dissolve and melt over time, much like what’s happening to the real glaciers. It’s meant as a subtle reminder of these challenging, on-going issues, and that we need to do our part to lessen our negative effect on the planet.
A percentage of A Glacier Adrift’s proceeds are being donated to 1% for the Planet, Stop Global Warming.org, and The Climate Reality, which are all charities endorsed by Al Gore.
