Ultimate Kitchen Tablet: Qooq

Have you ever printed out a recipe, only to ever-so-gracefully spill all over it and smudge the instructions? If you answered “yes,” then this technology is for you. Designed for the kitchen, the Qooq (pronounced “cook”) tablet is basically a spill-proof, heat-proof digital cookbook with a 10.1-inch display, 1024×600 resolution, and a 1GHz Cortex A9 dual-core processor. It even has a kickstand for easy viewing as you experiment with your culinary creations!

All under protective covering, this device has some other handy features including a SD card slot, Ethernet port, USB port, and headphone jack. When you turn it on, you’ll have access to 3,600 recipes and 1,200 videos (available 50 at a time with a monthly subscription), ingredient lists, step-by-step instructions, and even a recipe calculator that scales your recipes for you. Additionally, users can upload family recipes, automatically generate shopping lists, listen to music on an MP3 player, and navigate on a Flash-capable browser.

This tablet has been around for a while in France and soon it will be selling for about $400 in the U.S.
