Woman Creates Funny Photo Series with a Clone of Herself After Losing 150-Pound in Two Years

Two years ago, Beth Beard was 150 pounds heavier than she is now and about to undergo gastric bypass surgery. But before that happened, she and her photographer friend Blake Morrow began an extra special photo shoot called The Beth Project. It has only recently been fully realized now that Beard has lost the weight.

A couple of weeks before her surgery, Beard and Morrow held the first of two photo sessions. They shot 12 “before” pictures featuring Beard dressed up as different pop culture-inspired characters. Two years later and her dramatic weight loss complete, Beard and Morrow held a second “after” photo shoot that complemented the “before.” The photographer then digitally combined them into a single image with Photoshop. Although the editing tool was used, it wasn’t to alter Beard’s body. “”I was determined to use it in a way that would encourage and inspire people while being true to the heart of my subject,” he tells Buzzfeed.

These fantastic pictures are a celebration of Beard’s impressive accomplishment. She simultaneously appears in roles such as: Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo; competitors in a boxing match; and a criminal and warden. They’re charming with a great sense of humor, and a wonderful tribute to all of the hard work Beard put in over the past couple of years.
