Japanese photographer Takeshi Suga has created a dreamy set of double exposures where he uses props such as color filters and a pane of glass to add warmth and haziness. He started shooting double exposures by accident two years ago when he used his lomography camera to take a picture of a cherry blossom tree and a foundation, found at two different locations. The result? The image you see immediately below. Beautiful, isn’t it?
“I was always interested in photography’s capacity to project a heightened perception of reality onto the imagery that evokes potent trains of thought within us,” he tells us. “To me, double exposure is the technique that helps me achieve it.”
He continues, “When I overlay two images, I try to create layers of light and colors. Quite often, I intentionally leave one of the two images out of focus, not to subordinate to the other, but to create visual harmony.”
