Portuguese firm OODA recently won the Merit Award in an international competition for their proposal of the New Taipei City Museum of Art. The competition was looking for an innovative design concept that stands as a modern landmark and a bold symbol of Taipei’s new spirit.
OODA’s concept consists of two hypercubes; a 90 degree angled cube suspended within a larger contorted volumetric box. While the main museum is positioned above, the Children Museum of Art is located below, underneath the main sculptural piece.
