This Saturday, December 17th, Sylvia Ji will open a new solo exhibition called Gilded Roses at the Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City, California. It will feature twelve of Sylvia Ji’s new paintings with her signature palette of reds and bright crimsons. These paintings were inspired by western European costume designs and modern culture, therefore they are full of all kinds of frills such as lace, feather, silks and more.
The noteworthy “intricate patterns, fine textures, and historical silhouettes” make the beautiful works stand out. According to the press release, the exhibition promises to be “a unique exploration into [her] fascination with the past and what we wore.”
