Want to make your room look twice as big? Invest in a mirror. It will seemingly double your space; like a window, it will add a sense of depth to your room.
Tip #9: Choose space-saving furniture.
You’re limited to the amount of furniture in a small bedroom, but you can maximize its usage by choosing space-saving furniture. Nesting tables, for instance, can be stowed away. Your bed frame can also help; installing drawers underneath your bed can store items that only get occasional use.
Tip #10: Accent a wall.
While a light color palette will give the illusion of more space, you can still have fun with bright hues and patterns. An accent wall, with either paint or wallpaper, will liven up your bedroom and give it a feeling of customized coziness. And because you don’t have all four walls cloaked in bold color or pattern, the effect will add just enough visual liveliness—but won’t go overboard.
Tip #11: Floating shelves are your friend.
There are a ton of creative possibilities when you install floating shelves. You can place them over your bed, in different formations along your walls, or even in the place of a bedside table.
