Some High Schools Let Seniors Creatively Paint Their Parking Spots Each Year

Seniors in high school are often asked, “What will be the legacy you leave for those who follow in your footsteps?” For some that might mean taking their varsity sports team to win the all-state tournament; for others it could be establishing a recycling program. For the seniors of select high schools, such as Keller High School in Texas, Chelsea High School in Alabama, and West Orange High School in Florida, seniors have the opportunity literally leave their mark—they’re allowed to paint their parking spots with their own personalized flair.

The finished products are as diverse and unique as the students themselves, each reflecting their interests and personalities. Some students chose to pay homage their favorite TV show characters or album covers. A few have scripted artistic quotes of inspiration, while others simply wrote their name in big, bold letters. The school parking lots have transformed into rainbow-colored masterpieces that will not be forgotten. The class of 2017 has left big shoes to fill for next year’s seniors!
