Photographers Sean Lenz and Kristoffer Abildgaard have created some really amazing and original waterfall landscapes. The series, entitled Neon Luminance, features ethereal streaks of colored light set against the natural waterfalls of Northern California.
To capture the surreal images, the photographers illuminated the water with glow sticks, road flares, and headlamps, and documented the journey of each light source as it traveled down the waterfall and along the river. The intense color and brilliance were obtained through the use of long exposures ranging anywhere from 30 seconds to seven minutes.
Lenz and Abildgaard used a variety of high-powered Cyalume glow sticks, sometimes bundling multiple sticks together to obtain the different light patterns, and the final results are incredibly unique.
