Selfless Bride Continues to Work as Off-Duty Paramedic on Her Wedding Day

When you love a job that involves caring for others, your work is never truly done–even on your wedding day.

Paramedic Sarah Ray had just gotten married and was on her way to the reception when she stopped at an accident involving her father and grandparents. While wearing her white wedding dress, Ray rushed to assist in any way that she could and her husband Paul (who’s also a paramedic) was right by her side. As the newlywed was selflessly lending a hand on her very special day off, her mom took a picture of the wedding dress-clad paramedic–a photo that has been shared thousands of times over and received a parade of positive attention online.

Tennessee’s Montgomery County shared the photo on Facebook, with the caption: “How dedicated are you to your job? Sarah Ray, Paramedic with Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services, was photographed on her wedding night working the wreck of one of her wedding guests. Now that’s dedication…she stopped to assist on the way from the wedding to the reception! Thank you, Sarah, for loving what you do!” Even with the rewarding praise, Ray humbly told News Channel 5, “Anybody in the EMS field would’ve done the same thing. I don’t know if what I did was special but I was in a wedding dress.”

As for those who were involved in the accident, they are expected to make a full recovery.
