French artist Samsofy started out by photographing extreme sports in urban areas, but has recently focused his camera on smaller subjects. Using geek culture as inspiration, the imaginative photographer places LEGO characters next to real scenery and life-size objects, creating a world where these figures are living people who interact with their environment. In one image, chefs drop a delivery of giant macarons. In another, Superman can be found lifting up a massive sidewalk grate.
Through his diverse creations, Samsofy brings the miniature plastic people to life in a secret universe that takes place within our own. “My work combines the techniques of photography, street art, model making and installations; in my created microcosms, I play with scale and material to alter perception,” wrote the photographer on Bored Panda.
