Beautiful Abstract Toilet Paper Installations

We’ve seen our share of amazing paper artists and even come across one that works with the discarded cardboard tubes of used toilet paper rolls, but now we’re mesmerized by these beautiful installations by artist Sakir Gkebag that use rolls of toilet paper in their entirety. The series of sculptural works titled Trans-Layers incorporate hundreds of rolls of white toilet paper, configuring them into abstract designs against an ivory backdrop.

The idea behind the Hamburg-based Turkish artist’s body of work is to use ordinary objects to create compositions of beauty. Gkebag says his inspiration lies in “finding the poetry in the everyday.” As such, the 47-year-old skillfully assembles the fragile household items into visually pleasing arrangements that reflect an astute understanding of spacial design and composition.
