Art Basel Miami is a cultural celebration at the epicenter of contemporary art, making it an annual event that art aficionados flock to from all corners of the world. Filled with a rich sense of creativity, brilliant minds gather to share new and exciting viewpoints through artistic mediums. This year, they were joined by the “Parisian drink of choice”—Ruinart.
More than just the oldest champagne house, located in France, Ruinart is also an art and design patron with strong ties to the contemporary art community. In years past, the Parisian champagne leader has worked with artists such as Georgia Russell, Gideon Rubin, Piet Ein Eek, and Marteen Baas. For 2015, Ruinart collaborated with French artist and scenographer Hubert Le Gall, inviting him to visit their Sillery vineyard as inspiration for a new series of glass sculptures.
Le Gall traveled to Murano, Italy to meet with master glassmakers from Berengo Studio to beautifully craft his artistic vision. In the end, they created 12 sculptures to represent the passage of time and changing of seasons, paralleling the growth cycle of a vine. Now, Ruinart has proudly brought Le Gall’s beautiful glass sculptures to Art Basel Miami 2015.
