As I was looking through Escif’s extensive portfolio, I noticed a common theme amid a few of his pieces. Mixed in, amongst his otherwise abstract murals, was a group of pieces that centered around the idea of revolution, civil unrest, and social change.
The Spanish street artist created these pieces during an extraordinary period of our global history. With countries like Egypt and Tunisia successfully overthrowing their corrupt governments, Escif’s recent works beg us to ask the question: Does art have an impact in creating political change?
