Wedding blogger Preeti Moberg designed a maternity shoot that magnificently displays the beauty of diversity. “A couple months ago I had a little baby boy. But before this adorable troublemaker showed up on Earth, I wanted to do a maternity photo shoot that was something special,” the new mom writes. “A maternity shoot that showed the glitter and culture of India, but also a photo shoot that was more than the classical whimsical.” In working to achieve this artistic goal, Moberg scoured Pinterest and Google for inspiration, but realized something unfortunate: very few Indian women were being represented in maternity shoots.
To provide a thought-provoking perspective of maternity while simultaneously representing her Indian culture, Moberg teamed up with photographer Shhivika Chauhan, makeup artist April Foster, florist Amy Eimer, Henna Lounge‘s Darcy Vasudev, and Creative Collaborations‘ Janelle Evans. The team’s creative efforts resulted in a photo series that vibrantly exhibits Indian traditions and captures this meaningful time in Moberg’s life.
