Created as the sixth and final seaside mansion, as part of the Jeju Airest City resort in South Korea, “The Oval” house is an open structure that hopes to seamlessly incorporate nature. Designed by Seoul-based architects Planning Korea, the goal of the condo is for the residents to experience all four seasons as they come and go.
Given its name because of its trademark oval-shaped atrium in the living-room, the floor plan was built around this unique feature and even has live trees growing inside it. The house is flooded in natural light and features an abundance of plant life both inside and out that are visible in nearly every part of the house. Some of the only isolated places are the bedrooms since most of the others take full advantage of the glass walled construction for lighting purposes and to offer spectacular views. The Oval is also designed to host parties thanks to an expansive upper level terrace that offers an amazing ocean lookout and views of the surrounding forests.
