Photographer and adventurer Sergey Lukankin recently traveled to northern Norway to capture the breathtaking scenery of the country’s Lofoten and Senja Islands. Using a drone camera, Lukankin’s spectacular 4K video shows the other-worldly terrain from above, providing a rare view of the icy wonderland.
The camera soars and spans over the mythical Arctic landscape capturing the endless snow-covered mountainscapes, giant fjords, and icy ocean coastlines. Long, winding suspension bridges provide vital connections between the region’s sparsely populated towns, where colorful wooden houses can be seen dotted upon remote islands.
Often described as “the land of the midnight sun,” the people of northern Norway experience 24 hours of daylight during part of the summer, and endure 24 hours darkness during the middle of winter. The area is also one of the best places in the world to witness the brilliant blue and green swirls of the Aurora Borealis due to minimal light pollution. Lukankin’s Northern Norway video captures the magic of this vast landscape and might even ignite your wanderlust.
