Graduation Day is one of the biggest events in a person’s life. As such, it is expected for friends and family of the graduate to be in attendance. While this usually means blood relatives, one lucky young man also had his fictional family in attendance for the monumental occasion. Niles Fitch, star of This is Us, recently graduated from the University of Southern California, and his on-screen dad and sister, Milo Ventimiglia and Hannah Zeile, were there to support him.

Fitch played the teenage version of Randall Pearson—Sterling K. Brown’s character—on This is Us. He is adopted at birth by Ventimiglia’s Jack and Mandy Moore’s Rebecca Pearson, and goes on to work in finance and politics. Alongside his co-stars, Fitch won the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series category at the Screen Actors Guild awards in 2019. Having appeared in 92 episodes, Fitch developed a deep and unique bond with his cast mates.

The young actor shared an image of him in cap and gown, holding his degree. In a tender gesture, he captioned the image “Dad, I did it,” a dedication to his father Frederick, who died from lupus when Fitch was only 12 years old. The ceremony was also attended by his mother, Nakata, and his younger sister, Leigh.

Since his beloved TV family couldn’t miss this important day, and showed up too, they marked the moment with some photos, offering fans a bit of a cast reunion. Both Fitch and Zeile shared some images of the three of them together, with Ventimiglia and Zeile standing proudly beside the graduate. Fitch was also congratulated on Instagram by Moore and Brown, who respectively wrote, “Go Niles! Unbelievable” and “My dude!!! Way to go, young man!!!!”
