Shot by French photographer and graphic designer Nicolas Rottiers, Shapes and Shadows is an impressive series of long-exposure black and white photographs. The main focus is on architectural angles that yield a very unique mood when contrasted against the washed black background.
Each building seems to tower over the viewer causing an imposing and dominating feeling. Many of the structures are close to, if not perfectly, symmetrical. Since the architecture is so directly in focus, it really makes for some truly powerful images that are also beautiful due to the ranges of light throughout the shots.
