Taught by the same instructor, these pairs of classes will deepen your understanding of a subject matter or approach.
One set of classes will teach you the basics of drawing architecture and then how to expand on its incredible details. In her much-loved course Architectural Illustration for Everyone: Draw Buildings in Ink and Colored Pencil, Demi Lang takes you through the process of drawing buildings and getting their structure just right. Her follow-up course takes what you’ve learned and zooms in. Titled Advanced Architectural Illustration: Monochrome Details, the nearly two-hour class teaches you precision linework to render a Corinthian column.
While Lang’s classes are an extension of subject matter, other courses pair techniques. Artist Nitika Ale introduced us to her way of abstract painting in her first course titled Dream Your Own Abstract Acrylic Floral Paintings. Now, her newest course is translating her technique of bold color blends and layering to portraiture. It’s called Mixed Media Portrait Drawing, and in it, you’ll use charcoal, pastels, and paint to create beautiful, emotional art.
