Three-Dimensional Portal Formed on a Parisian Highway

The anonymous street artist known as 1010 creates mind-bending murals that’ll make you think you’re seeing through walls. Now, he’s moved to the ground, and his latest piece comprises a large section of a Parisian highway. The asphalt opens up to reveal a portal whose layers of bright colors lead to dark and unknown depths.

It took the artist about seven days and 400 liters of paint to craft this giant 4,500 square meter mural. And as if that’s not impressive enough, it really looks three-dimensional. From a bird’s eye view, it seems as though you could reach your hand into the infinite abyss. This also makes you think about the surrounding landscape in an entirely new way. 1010’s creation conjures thoughts of the mysterious – we can’t help imagining what’s hidden below.

The fantastic mural was made possible with the help of the Itinerrance Gallery in Paris.
