Halloween might be over, but that doesn’t mean that your lovable pooch can’t wear a costume every once in a while. A little Shih-Tzu named Munchkin dressed up as a walking teddy bear that was crafted by her owner, Cindy Roth. The adorable canine perfectly fits the stuffed animal’s frame, and from certain angles it looks like a fuzzy brown bear is waddling towards you.
Roth generously revealed how to make this 15 minute costume for your own dog. First, you need to measure your pup in the front, from the feet to the top of its head. Then, buy a teddy bear that’s similar in color to your canine. Cut the face and bottom of the feet off the stuffed creature, and clip the back open, too. Take all of the stuffing out of it except for the arms; the dog will wear the bear on the front part of its body/legs while its back half is exposed. To finish the costume, put a string or velcro through the back behind the neck for closure.
If your bear’s arms hang down, Roth says that you can sew them up a little higher so that they stick out like Munchkin’s do. With this advice, we wouldn’t be surprised to see some more cute “teddy bears” in the future!
