Perfectly Preserved 1950s Time Capsule House Is For Sale

Wander into the heart of Northern Dallas and you may just find yourself traveling back in time. There, you’ll see this incredible Mid-Century Modern home dreamed up by renowned architect Gordon Nichols in 1954—and it hasn’t aged a day!

Graphic designer Carlos Cardoza purchased the four-bedroom pad in 1994. Embracing its stunning open-plan design and eager to restore it to its doo-wop days, he vowed to keep it completely kitsch with technicolor textiles, sci-fi shapes (the only place you’ll find more atomic starbursts is in the Jetsons’ sky-high house), and bubblegum paint colors. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer picture-perfect views of the retro pool out back and Cardoza’s flamingo-pink Cadillac in the driveway.

If that’s not sugary sweet enough for you, the ageless abode is charmingly located on one of Dallas’ famous “Disney Streets” (Pinocchio, to be precise), a series of residential roads created in the 1950s by the National Association of Home Builders.  It also happens to be on the market—nifty furnishings, unfortunately, not included—and can be yours for a pretty penny ($665,000, to be exact).

We can dream, right?
