Located on the Han River in Seoul, South Korea, the Floating Stage seems like the perfect place to enjoy an outdoor concert. Designed by Kyungam Architects Associates, the recently completed stage is equipped with LED lights used during laser and water fountain shows.
The Floating Stage has a seating capacity of 2,200 people and is part of the Han River Renaissance Master Plan. The stage will mainly be used for various music performances, but will also be used for cultural events hosted by Seoul city, launching TV shows, and other specials events such as outdoors weddings.
When no performances are scheduled, a musical fountain show occurs every hour. The arch structure supports four rotating doors that can open and close. This systems allows for the stage to be used during all four seasons, and in the winter time the dome can be closed to be used as an indoor space.
