Modern Architecture: Faade with Hexagonal Apertures (8 pics)

This faade by Australian firm Lyons is incredibly eye-catching. The new campus building for Warrnambool College in Australia has a glazed exterior made up of hexagonal apertures tilted down towards the street. The glazed apertures have a steel structure finished with zinc, and provide solar shading along with natural ventilation. The new building acts as a threshold between the town and private campus, and features housing, offices, lecture theaters, and meeting rooms. The college, near Victoria, is one of five across Australia that form South West TAFE, a further education institution.
