Designed by architecture firm Grant Associates, Bay South is set to become Singapore’s largest garden project when it opens in 2011.
The project’s most striking feature is its super-tall tree structures, which function as towering vertical gardens that collect rainwater and solar energy to sustain the garden. The supertrees will range from 100-180 feet (30-55 meters) in height and will be wrapped in ferns, vines, and tropical flowers. At night, the canopies will come alive with lighting and projected media.
