This unique hotel is not only located on the grounds of a tequila distillery, but it also has rooms shaped like giant barrels. That’s right, you can actually tuck in for the night inside a cozy room made to look like a tequila barrel.
The Hotel de Barricas, which literally translates to “barrel hotel,” is located just outside the Mexican town of Tequila. The 30 barrel-shaped rooms are scattered among the fields of blue agave, the plant used to make tequila. According to the hotel, their mission is to “connect the alchemy of tequila with human senses.”
Once you’ve settled into the gorgeous landscape, you can take advantage of all the amenities that the hotel has to offer. Each room comes equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, bath amenities, and a minibar. The special Extra Aged Barrel Room even has its own jacuzzi.
There’s also plenty to explore on the grounds, including an underground tavern that doubles as the hotel’s restaurant and bar. Soon you’ll be able to take a dip in the swimming pool that is set to be nestled among the agave fields. And you can already enjoy special tequila tastings and curl up to a fire at a special outdoor area.
