Often the subject of folklore or legends, feral children are typically portrayed as having been raised by animals in the wild just as they are in Malika Favre’s series of shrewdly designed illustrations, aptly entitled Feral Children.
Favre is a French illustrator living and working in London, England. In her impressive illustrations, she conveys the essence of her subjects using as few lines and colors as possible. Her work is about paring things down and simplifying complex images to their core so that the essentials are prominent yet subtle. The images have been perfectly reduced to five colors with figures distinguished by very clean lines and precise gestures.
