You might know actor Macaulay Culkin for his iconic role in the Home Alone movie franchise. He starred as the clever Kevin McCallister in Home Alone and Home Alone 2, when he was a kid in the ’90s. Although he’s acted in many things since then, the films remain required viewing during the holiday season.
Culkin acknowledges his place in pop culture history via his hilarious Twitter account. From poking fun at his age to showing what a modern-day Home Alone would look like, Culkin recently shared how he’s been staying safe during COVID-19. He’s been wearing a face mask, of course, but it’s not just any covering: it’s the iconic “surprise face” from Home Alone. You know the expression—it’s when he puts his hands on his cheeks and screams. Culkin was famous for doing it. In fact, it’s the face he made on the movie poster.
Having to make “the face” over and over again probably got pretty old for Culkin when he did it 30 years ago. But, it’s fun—especially for elder millennials—to take a trip down memory lane and remember watching the movies as a kid eagerly awaiting Christmas.
