Some people say that their wedding day is the best day of their lives. There are even reality shows built around the momentous occasion that people often dream of and spend months planning. For British couple Lisa Gant and Alex Pelling, it is a day that they continue to live over and over again. After selling all of their assets, the duo have embarked on a traveling wedding adventure, seeking to experience a traditional wedding in each country they visit across the globe. Thus far, they have taken part in over 20 weddings!

The ongoing journey has allowed Gant and Pelling to explore the world and gain insight on varied cultures that each celebrate the union of two people with their own set of customs. The ultimate goal is to get married, for real, at their favorite location, once they’ve completed their matrimonial expedition. Their journey can be tracked through the couple’s blog called 2people1life, which also includes a continually updated map of the places they have visited.

The couple’s original intention was to complete this trek across the globe in two years; however, it has been over a year since they first began their travels on June 6, 2011 and they are still in the western hemisphere. It seems they may be taking part in a longer engagement period than initially planned, but you can’t hurry love and this one is worth extending.

UPDATE: We’re extremely excited to announce that Lisa and Alex’s beautiful wedding adventure across the globe is one of 25 photo stories featured in our new book For Love, published by Chronicle Books! The official release date is March 15, 2016, and the book is currently available to pre-order at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Indie Bound.
