If you’re on the fence about attending the Art in the Streets exhibition at the MOCA, maybe this will convince you. If you weave your away around all that amazing art, you’ll find the Levi’s Film Workshop. As a nice compliment to the show, Levi has its own section filled with some fantastic work stations for anyone who’s interested in film. In fact, they encourage you to step right up and get your “hands dirty.”
In the Workshop you’ll want to check out: a green screen, a slow-motion video booth, a stop motion animation station, a Phonotope, and a video DJing area. On top of that, they have a rental station where you can “check out” some really rad gear like vintage and modern cameras, sound equipment, grip gear and more.
If that’s not enough, Levi is also putting on weekly educational classes that cover topics like animation, stunts and 3D. Like everything in this set-up, these are free of charge and open on a first-come, first-serve basis.
While wandering around, I can’t tell you how amazed we were that Levi is really giving back to the community in this way. When a brand steps out of their shell and gives their community a sweet experience like this, you can’t help but appreciate it. So way to go, Levi!
The Levi’s Workshops are a series of venues dedicated to creative production and collaboration. The Film Workshop celebrates the craft of filmmaking and the other arts raised in the streets of Los Angeles. Like the exhibition at MOCA we are housed in, we champion a variety of styles and techniques; from super 8 to 3d, home movies to avant garde, amateur to professional. This Levi’s Film Workshop is a place where we facilitate and you create.
