Food photographer Kyle Dreier has taken the standard still life food photograph and turned it into a captivating series filled with interesting narratives. The Tennessee-based food artist has a strong eye for great composition as well as a keen sense of what food combos will make your mouth water.
To kickstart this particular project, the artist asked himself, “What foods really go well together? What are the stereotypical food pairings?” To explore and visually answer these questions, Dreier created this personal project, entitled Pairings. Milk & Brownies, Beer & Pretzels, Sake & Sushi, Dreier certainly knows his way to his viewers’ stomachs! These delicious pairings feature a unique presentation in which the main ingredient is tied tightly around the corresponding beverage. Sometimes Dreier even uses a prop, like spaghetti, as the bounding device. Each pair is a unique spin on a classic combination and viewers will be craving a snack after checking out this series.
