19-Year-Old Artist Uses Flowers and Food to Complete Her Colorful Drawings

Kristina Webb is a 19-year-old New Zealander whose vibrant drawings are complemented by her creative use of 3D objects. Using colored pencils as a base, the artist produces realistic-style portraits and then completes them with unexpected elements: spaghetti becomes a woman’s long locks; faux butterflies create another’s dress; and a swing is fashioned out of a budding flower. These elements, coupled with Webb’s use of bright, unsaturated colors, create fantastical compositions that celebrate the beauty of life and our imagination.

Although she’s still young, Webb has already made a name for herself. She has an avid following on social media, having drawn portraits for well-known celebrities such as Cody Simpson, Tyra Banks, Ed Sheeran, and Lauren Conrad. In addition, she recently released her own book called Color Me Creative: Unlock Your Imagination, which features 50 artistic challenges for readers to try.
